The Best Dairy-Free & Egg-Free Egg Nog

So if you hang out with us on Facebook, you may have caught wind that dairy-free eggnog has been a rough venture for us in recent years.

One, my son had some kind of cross contamination issue with a particular brand. He's anaphylactic to cashew and dairy so it's discouraging when these dairy-free companies ALL want to offer cashew milk in their line-up. That's my own personal beef, you may not agree with me.

Second, my husband is a huge eggnog connoisseur and rarely likes any dairy-free version that I bring home. In years past, he always wanted "real egg nog" tucked away in the back of the refrigerator.

But this year, we may have finally found one good option for us all. So Delicious Coconut Milk Holiday Nog.

As is our practice, Miles took one little sip and waited five minutes to make sure he didn't react. He's still scarred from last year's incident, and was happy to follow this rule. No reaction!

In the meantime, Jeff gave it a whirl and ecstatically let me know that this was the closest thing to real eggnog that he'd ever tried. I was pretty surprised that he was that impressed, especially since coconut isn't one of our favorite dairy-free milks. He even told me not to worry about getting "real egg nog" this year because So Delicious would suffice. Shocking...and ok!

On a side note, Miles decided he didn't totally love it after all because it's "too thick". Oh my gosh, sometimes I just can't win. HA! You food allergy parents know what I'm talking about. You try so hard and then the kids are all like, "Eh, I don't really like that safe food that you worked your butt off getting for me or making for me. Can I have a banana?".

Miles doesn't mind it thinned down with a splash of his dairy-free milk, now. Whew!

So the fam is chugging down the nog like it's going out of style, and we are on our second or third container. It's not even Christmas yet!

If you're looking for dairy-free nog that's comparable to the dairy and egg version and hopefully not contaminated with nuts, you might want to try this! Check labels for yourself, of course. And call the company if you need to.
