Round-Up of Mylan News This Week

If you are an allergy family or even if you're not, you've probably heard a lot of talk about Mylan and EpiPen in the past week.  Our helpful readers have been sending us news links for days, and I thought it was time to start compiling the highlights after reading through a ton of articles today.

Despite EpiPen being a life-saving tool for allergy families everywhere, the news isn't so positive this week.

The initial story started with discontentment over the 500% price increase this back-to-school season, but additional concerns are now surfacing.

For your convenience, below I am linking a recap of the information as it unfolds.  Be sure to check back as we will more than likely be adding to this list as the days go on.

As for my own personal opinion on this matter, this is my favorite article so far.  It truly is the allergy parents we have to thank for bringing this issue to light and creating a voice loud enough to initiate change.  So thank you, parents!

September 2016 Mylan Stories

Some of Our Reader Comments:

"$500 for us.  It's a Tier 3 drug on our insurance."

"Got our first 2-pack for $0 with the card.  That's all our insurance allows for the year.  It's never been like that in the past.  Now it'll be $635 for each additional 2-pack and that's after the $100 off."

"I don't have insurance for myself so I don't have an EpiPen for my wasp/bee venom allergy.  They would be $640."

"We even switched insurance this year for this reason and it still didn't cover it."

"I save money by buying my EpiPens from Canada.".

Here's to hoping for a quick resolution in favor of allergy families.
