FREE Addition Table to Sum 15 + Math Flash Cards

Original Post 5-16

When I determined that my youngest needed to start drilling and memorizing his addition math facts, I was hoping some online program would be the answer. But we tried a handful of them to no avail. And I even paid for some reputable memberships.

Why didn't online math drilling work for us? One, I wasn't techy enough to read the stats well. Two, my son wasn't into it. He didn't like the game programs OR the straight facts drilling. Poor kid couldn't find numbers on the keyboard fast enough either way. And three, I just felt a disconnect from knowing how he was doing when plugging him into a device for this portion of his learning.

So on one quiet weekend last summer, I spent days creating my own drilling and learning system for the addition math facts up to the sum of 15. Maybe if we got back to the basics there would be hope. Stick in the sand, anyone? ;)

First, I created an Addition Table to Sum 15 and some extra facts were added at the bottom to accommodate our Saxon and Classical Conversations curriculum.

Second, I wrote out flash cards to facilitate a step-by-step process for learning the facts in the chart. I numbered sets of cards from 1-11 so we could work through the steps in order.

After putting this together, my boys and I explored the facts by color coding the chart. My youngeset had so many light bulbs going off when he saw the pattern to how these math facts are formed, and this was also great review for my oldest son.

After pouring quite a bit of labor into these, it's only natural that I want to share them...especially because they worked well for my child.

But since these cards are handwritten, I have to manually send them out. This means I'm only able to offer them at certain times when I can man my email and have time to send them. Below I will keep you updated on if they are available or if there's a wait list.

How to Use The Math Cards
Print on white card stock in color
Cut the cards out at 3x2.5"
Write answers in pencil on back
Laminate the cards if you choose
Hole punch the cards
Put the cards on a large binder ring
Drill and memorize

This printable is not available at the moment. Please join our home school list below to be the first to know when this is offered again.
